No Appointments Needed at Earl Nichols COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinic Starting Today

Posted by on

NOTICE: Please review the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility before walking into Earl Nichols Recreation Centre.

At this time, only adults 18 years of age or older are eligible for a booster dose. Please ensure that you meet the required time interval between your second dose and booster dose (at least 3 months/12 weeks for adults 18 years of age or older).

In an effort to continue to increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine, the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) will no longer require appointments at its Earl Nichols mass vaccination clinic site. The addition of more walk-in options is intended to make it easier for anyone who has yet to receive a first, second or booster dose of vaccine to get started towards being fully protected against COVID-19 and the Omicron variant.

With today’s announcement, anyone five years of age and older will be able to walk into the Earl Nichols Recreation Centre COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, located at 799 Homeview Road in London, up to an hour before closing time, and receive the vaccine. The limit placed on walk-ins during the last hour the clinic is open is to ensure that vials of vaccine are used fully and that no partial vials are left over at the end of each day.

“If you still need to get a first, second or booster dose of vaccine, you can now walk into the Earl Nichols Recreation Centre before 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, to get your shot,” says Mary Lou Albanese, Director of Environmental Health and Infectious Diseases, with the Middlesex-London Health Unit. “It is critical that five to eleven-year-olds get vaccinated. With the ongoing COVID-19 transmission we’re seeing, having our children receive the COVID-19 vaccine is one of the most important steps we can take to protect them and our community.”

The walk-in option at the Earl Nichols Recreation Centre COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic is the latest addition to the Health Unit’s campaign to encourage those who have yet receive their booster dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine. While the walk-in option is now available at the Earl Nichols site, vaccination appointments can still be booked at www.covidvaccinelm.ca.
