Posted by on

Following the Government of Ontario’s announcement this morning, the Middlesex-London Health Unit will expand COVID-19 vaccination eligibility to the following groups:

  • Adults 18 years of age and older (born in 2003 and turning 18 in 2021)

Eligible adults 18 years of age and older will be able to book a first-dose COVID-19 vaccine appointment starting Tuesday, May 18th at 8:00 a.m.

How to book an appointment:

  • Book online at www.covidvaccinelm.ca (new appointments open daily at 8:00 a.m.)
  • Call 226-289-3560 (8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday)

It is important to note that some individuals aged 16 years of age and older continue to be eligible as part of the following eligible groups:

  • Highest-risk, high-risk and at-risk health conditions and chronic home care recipients
  • Essential Workers who cannot work from home (Groups 1 and 2 under Phase Two)
  • Indigenous individuals and immediate household/family members of Indigenous people who themselves are not Indigenous
  • Individuals who are pregnant
  • Residents, primary essential caregivers and staff of high-risk congregate living settings
  • Residents and staff of congregate settings with a history of outbreak at the discretion of public health
  • Residents, staff and essential caregivers associated with long-term care, retirement homes and other congregate care settings

For additional details on each of the eligibility categories described above, please visit our website: https://www.healthunit.com/covid-19-vaccine-eligibility#eligiblility

For more information about who is currently eligible to book a shortened-interval second dose appointment, please see our second-dose schedule: https://www.healthunit.com/covid-19-vaccine-eligibility#second-dose-schedule

Note: Consistent with Provincial direction and to maximize the number of individuals benefiting from a first dose of vaccine, the second dose of vaccine will be delayed for most recipients. In order to book a shortened-interval second-dose appointment, you must meet the current second-dose eligibility criteria outlined here. Second dose appointments can only be made by calling 226-289-3560 (8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday). You cannot book a second-dose appointment online.
