Health Unit Steps Up Mass Vaccination Effort with Holiday Pop-Up Clinic at CF Masonville Place

Posted by on

As part of its effort to make the COVID-19 vaccine available more widely, the Middlesex-London Health Unit is partnering with CF Masonville Place once again to hold a walk-in pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic all through the month of December. The clinic will provide families with an opportunity to roll up their sleeves and get protected against COVID-19 as they do their holiday shopping. The clinic will open Wednesday, December 1st at 12:00 noon and will run until Friday, December 31st, 2021.

The Heath Unit’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be located on the lower level beside Skechers and will be accessible through CF Masonville Place’s Entrance 6 doors, next to Thaifoon restaurant. The clinic will be open from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday to Friday; from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays; and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. The Health Unit will provide first doses of COVID-19 vaccine to anyone over the age of five, as well as second and third doses to those who are eligible. It is hoped the clinic will reach those who have not yet been vaccinated due to barriers, such as convenience and limited transportation options.

“It’s great to be able to offer the COVID-19 vaccine at CF Masonville Place once again. Our goal is to make it as easy and convenient as possible for families to protect themselves from COVID, all while they get their Holiday shopping done,” says Maureen MacCormick, Director of Healthy Living and Chief of Operations, for the Middlesex-London Health Unit’s COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics. “We hope that with easier access to the vaccine, we will get even better coverage and uptake, especially now that children between the ages of five and 11 are now eligible.”

“CF Masonville Place is a proud supporter of the community. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the Middlesex-London Health Unit, the City of London and Middlesex County have done a remarkable job at helping our community gain greater access to the COVID-19 vaccine,” says Sandra Lorentiu, General Manager of CF Masonville Place. “The first clinic we hosted provided vaccine access to over 2,200 residents. We hope that with the larger space and longer hours, parents will find it accessible and children and guests of all ages will feel welcome.”
