London, ON – The Middlesex-London Health Unit is advising that a second individual, possibly infected with measles, may have exposed community members to the virus at the times and locations listed below. The Health Unit is advising these people, and the broader community, to be aware of the signs and symptoms of measles, as this list may not include all possible exposures.

Region’s Sixth Cold Weather Alert Lifted as Temperatures Climb Above -15C
London, ON – The Cold Weather Alert issued by the Medical Officer of Health on Wednesday, March 12th has now been terminated. Current outdoor temperatures and those forecast by Environment Canada for the next few days are above the -15C threshold used by the Health Unit to issue a Cold Weather Alert.
Weather Turnaround Leads to Region’s Sixth Cold Weather Alert of the Year
London, ON – After what seemed like the beginning of the end for the winter of 2014, cold temperatures are about to return to the region. With an Environment Canada forecast calling for temperatures to drop to -18C this evening, the Medical Officer of Health has issued the year’s sixth Cold Weather Alert. A forecast calling for daytime low temperatures colder than -15C is one of the Health Unit’s criteria for issuing Cold Weather Alerts. The alert comes into effect later today and will continue through tomorrow afternoon.

Health Unit Ends Cold Weather Alert as Forecast Calls for Warmer Temperatures
A return to more seasonal temperatures has led to the end of the year’s fifth Cold Weather Alert. The latest alert, issued by the Medical Officer of Health on Tuesday, February 25th and extended on Monday, March 3rd, has now been terminated. Current outdoor temperatures and those forecast by Environment Canada for the next few days are well above the -15 degree C threshold used by the Health Unit to issue a Cold Weather Alert.
Continued Deep Freeze Leads to Extension of Current Cold Weather Alert
Continued cold temperatures in the region this week have prompted the Middlesex-London Health Unit to extend the current Cold Weather Alert, which has been in effect since February 25th. Due to the most recent Environment Canada forecast, which calls for daily low temperatures to drop below -15 degrees C, the Alert will remain in effect until the afternoon of Thursday, March 6th.
Cold Weather Alert Issued as Deep Cold Set to Return to Middlesex-London
Another deep freeze is poised to descend on London and Middlesex County. The Environment Canada forecast is calling for the mercury to plunge to -16 degrees C tonight and to drop even further to a low of -26 degrees C overnight Thursday. As a result, the Medical Officer of Health has issued the region’s fifth Cold Weather Alert of 2014. This latest Cold Weather Alert comes into effect this afternoon and will continue until Monday, March 3rd.
