MLHU Vaccination Clinic Set to Begin Tomorrow at White Oaks Mall

Posted by on

After a successful 13-day run at CF Masonville Place, the Middlesex-London Health Unit is set to open its latest multi-day walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic at White Oaks Mall in south London tomorrow morning. The walk-in vaccination clinic at CF Masonville Place exceeded expectations, administering more than 2,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, 52% of which were first doses, over 13 days between August 30th and September 12th. The opening of the latest mall-based clinic at White Oaks Mall is in keeping with the Health Unit’s strategy of offering the vaccine in neighbourhoods that have lower vaccination rates in ways that are as easy and convenient as possible for area residents.

The clinic will be set up at White Oaks Mall between Bath and Body Works and Sephora locations; it can be accessed most easily via the south entrance, near Maurice’s and H&M. It will operate from Tuesday, September 14th until Saturday, September 25th and will be open weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The clinic will offer both first and second doses of vaccine, in the hopes of reaching those who are not yet protected and who haven’t been able to be vaccinated due to barriers including convenience, availability and transportation challenges.

“The success of our first mall-based clinic has shown that providing the COVID-19 vaccine in a retail setting is a viable and effective way to reach people who may not have been able to attend one of the mass vaccination or pop-up clinics,” says Dr. Chris Mackie, Medical Officer of Health with the Middlesex-London Health Unit. “With the province’s proof-of-vaccination plan coming into effect on September 22nd and other vaccination policies that are already in place, we expect the demand to be steady and we are ready to welcome anyone seeking to receive the vaccine.”

“We’re more than happy to partner with the Middlesex-London Health Unit to help get as many people vaccinated as possible,” says Jeff Wilson, General Manager at White Oaks Mall. “Our convenient location allows for people to get their dose of vaccine while also being able to enjoy the stores and services here at White Oaks Mall.”
