Starting Monday, June 20th, the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) will be changing the frequency with which it updates its online COVID-19 Dashboard. The current five-day-a-week schedule has been in place since July 2021 and no longer aligns with the current level of COVID-19 activity in the community, or the reporting frequency of other public health partners. Rather than continue updating the dashboard five days a week, starting next Monday, the dashboard will be updated twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. When statutory holidays observed by the Health Unit fall on a Monday, the dashboard update will be posted on Tuesday and Thursday of that week.
When the reporting of COVID-19 data resumes on Monday, June 20th, the Health Unit will include the number of total confirmed cases, total COVID-19-related deaths, total active cases and the number of resolved cases. These numbers will be updated to reflect the change in each category since the previous dashboard update.
While the number of new cases and additional deaths since the previous day will not be included in the Case Status box at the top of the dashboard as they currently are, the number of cases reported by day will continue to be available on the Daily cases by reported date chart. Users will be able to view the number of cases reported each day by hovering over the green bars of the chart; alternatively, they can also right click in the chart area, select “Show as a table”, and a data table of reported date, daily number of cases, and 7-day moving average will be shown. The COVID-19-related deaths box will also continue to be updated after June 20th. Additionally, the Deaths by date chart, which shows the number of COVID-19-related deaths by week, will continue to be available.
The Health Unit will not be able to respond to specific media inquiries about on which days cases and/or deaths occurred, but will continue to provide urgent updates, when necessary.
