International Week of Action for Smoke-Free Movies

The International Week of Action for Smoke-Free Movies occurs every year leading up to the Academy Awards telecast in late February and is used by a number of organizations across the world to raise awareness about the issue of smoking in movies and its negative impacts on young people. In 2017, the International Week of Action will begin on February 19 and end on Sunday, February 26 with the 89th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars.

Past Events/Activities

The One Life One You youth group has been involved in a number of activities and events over the past few years, including:

  • Outdoor Smoke-Free Movie Nights in London’s Victoria Park and Strathroy’s Fairgrounds Aquatic Park
  • Know What’s In Your Mouth campaign activity at the Play On! Street Hockey Tournament in London
