Water Safety

Did you know? Drowning is the second leading cause of death for young children yet these injuries are both predictable and preventable.

Safety Tips

  • Always supervise young children when in or around water
  • Always stay within arm’s reach and sight of your children at all times
  • Make sure young children and weak swimmers wear a lifejacket or PFD (Personal Flotation Device)
  • Install a 4 sided pool fence with a self-closing, self-latching gate around your home pool
  • Enroll your children in swimming lessons1
  • Do not use infant bath seats or bath rings2
