Pools and Spas

Swimming is a recreational activity enjoyed by persons of all ages. Public pools and public spas (hot tubs) are often found alongside each other and both can serve a large number of people. Whether these recreational water facilities are used competitively for sport, leisurely, or just to beat the summer heat, they can present a public health concern.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit aims to reduce, and more successfully prevent, the number of water-borne related fatalities, injuries and illnesses by ensuring that these facilities are operated in a safe and sanitary manner.
