How to Fit a Bicycle Helmet

Do you know how to fit a bicycle helmet? A properly fitted bicycle helmet (PDF 224KB) is important to make sure both children and adults stay safe while cycling.

 

2 V 1

  • 2 Fingers above your eyebrow to the bottom of your helmet.
  • 4 Fingers to make a “V” Shape around the bottom of your ears.
  • 1 Finger under the strap beneath your chin.1

Helmets on Kids

Helmets on Kids is a community based partnership with like-minded agencies and individuals interested in raising awareness of the risks associated with not wearing a helmet when cycling. The 2V1 campaign was developed through this partnership in an effort to educate the community about wearing a helmet and proper helmet fitting.
