Middlesex-London Health Unit and Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre to Announce new Partnership

Posted by on

A new partnership between the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) and the Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC) will be announced next Monday, April 30th at 10:30 a.m. in the Middlesex County Building. This innovative collaboration will provide Indigenous community members in London and Middlesex with access to culturally safe dental treatment services in the existing clinic space at MLHU’s 50 King Street office.

In the fall 2017, the Health Unit announced changes to the services it would provide, focusing on preventive services rather than dental treatment. Once the MLHU had secured treatment services for its patients, it entered into discussions with SOAHAC to provide dental services to local Indigenous community members using the clinical space at 50 King Street on a shared basis.

The announcement will be made in the Middlesex Room, located on the first floor of the Middlesex County Building, with an open house in the Dental Clinic continuing until 12:00 noon.
